SPRINT-

The SPRINT versions will directly replace the OEM fuel injector nozzles. Make your tired old injectors new again. ---OR--- upgrade your 90 hp injectors to the 110 hp Euro specification.  Sprint nozzles are better than new injector assemblies for 1/4 the price!

-          Comparable to OE design specification

-          Better than OEM tolerances

-          Service parts for maintenance

-          Cost-effective replacement

-          Easy power upgrade

-          DIESEL TUNE-UP for worn injectors:

-          75,000 miles

-          Performance fix

-          Smoke fix

-          Improve economy

POWERPLUS

The typical OEM must compromise some performance characteristics to meet production numbers while entertaining the cost-reduction demands imposed by bean-counters in the corporate office.

The Fratelli Bosio POWERPLUS PHILOSOPHY removes these artificial OEM design limitations, by applying industry-leading advanced technology to decades of injector nozzle manufacturing experience.

Each POWERPLUS nozzle embodies thousands of hours of testing to achieve the most effective design, without the typical compromises imposed on the OEM by the demands of mass-production.

The result:

-          optimized spray pattern

-          closer tolerances

-          hardened wear surfaces

-          More power than OEM

-          More torque than OEM

-          Less exhaust smoke for comparable power

-          Improved economy in many cases

When people ask this question ("Sprint or Powerplus?"), we first reply with our own questions:

Have you upgraded your clutch, or is it stock? (5-speed cars obviously)

Next question: Are you chipped or do you plan to chip in the future? (and which chip- each chip-tuner has their own recommendation)

If someone just wants nozzles and doesn't plan to chip, PP520 work fine for 5-speed and PP357 are ok for auto. If the clutch is upgraded, or an upgrade is planned, POWERPLUS is ok. Add in a chip, and it's "clutch-slip city" unless it's upgraded clutch.

The reason for this recommendation is that the POWERPLUS versions add about twice the torque gain of their OEM equivalent (SPRINT) counterparts. You can feel the difference in the seat of your pants quite easily.

POWERPLUS versions also have a few more steps in their manufacture. The most obvious difference is the carbon-ceramic coating on the needle. This special coating has anti-friction (slides easier) and anti-wear (harder, lasts longer) properties when immersed in fuel at operating temperature and pressure. It's also the reason POWERPLUS nozzles ideally should run a few hundred miles before "pop testing" or dyno tests- although you can do a rough set-up with a pop tester when they are new, they will not hold pressure like they do when they are run-in. We've had a few calls from concerned customers at their local diesel injection shop saying their PP nozzles are not holding pressure- but this is simply a consequence of the manufacturing process. EVERY shop that tests these after they are run a few hundred or a thousand miles is impressed with how well they hold pressure, how nice they spray, and how evenly matched the opening pressures are, even if they were doubtful on the initial install. There are also differences in the internal machining and micropolishing on a microscopic level that are not at all discernible with the naked eye. For instance, the spray holes in the PP are not straight cylinders, but are slightly cone-shaped.

SPRINT nozzles are an economical alternative that still exceeds OEM quality standards, but the gains are not quite the same as the POWERPUS design can achieve. SPRINT offers excellent bang-for-the buck.
